Direct Wireing How??????
I would like to directly wire in some of my electronics, such as my cell phone charger etc. that would normally plug into my cigarette lighter plug. Please if anyone can help me with a plan of attack so I fon't screw anythin up I would be most greatful. I have a 2003 Expedition.

Probably the best way would be to tap into the wiring for the aux. power outlets. I have not seen the '03's interior, so i am not sure where it is. Pull off whatever interior panels you need to access the outlet, and splice there. Regardless of the wire colors, the wire that connects to the center of the power outlet (or the center pin of the cig. lighter plug on the cell phone charger) is positve, the other is negative. These wires supply power only to the outlets, and won't interfere with the power supplied to other components in the vehicle, and it is fuse protected. A suggetion though : most cell phone chargers have small circuit boards inside the cig. lighter plug that regulate voltage to the phone, so don't go lopping it off.
