Just picked up an 89 f350 with a cummins in it. It's 2wd and rearend just crapped out. What years and models of dana 80 will fit without reinventing the wheel? I'm hoping something with disc brakes will work but I need to know before I go buy an axle! Thanks guys!

Well, you don't have a dana 80 stock. You had a Sterling 10.25
Wow ok thanks! Big eye opener there, so I guess the question is what would you recommend to get rid of drums?
Dont, there is no reason to ditch the drums. when they are adjusted PROPERLY, they will out stop any disc brake setup you will find
There are guys that have retrofitted Sterling 10.5 axle into their OBS. They machined the hubs to use a different lug patter, Econoline rotors and Im not sure what they did with the E-brake.
Another setup was Blackbird disc brake conversion. But there you are using CAR brakes to stop a truck
Sounds like I need to start hunting, thanks guys! I just haven't had a good time with disc brakes and I don't have the patience to rebuild them which every truck I've owned had bad drums in the back, kinda left a bad taste in my mouth.
I'm just outside Chicago, but thanks for the offer, so far not much luck
If only it were warmer out and you wanted to drive. They are all around me in the bone yards and cheap!!! Good luck on the hunt. The bone yards I go to are in Danville Illinois.
No problem, I hope they have what you need. Been 2 months since I was there at the U-pull but Coultas had the best selection. They had 1 dually, most are F250 but they use the same axle. I think you can look up inventory on Coultas site.
