Hello All,
I Love this site there is so much useful information and knowledge, need a little more please...
Back about a year or so ago I had to do an EGR Cooler delete, I thought I was very careful when I replaced all the O-rings and gaskets. Apparently I must have pinched something or installed a ring wrong. From what I've been able to surmise when I first start my '06 Super-Duty there is about a 5-10 second delay before the engine starts. From what I've been able to learn the problem is being cause due to the oil draining back down into the reservoir. I have no idea where to begin to start looking to be able to fix this short of taking it to a shop, which I dread because I trust no one to be accountable and do quality work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated or a good mechanic in the Zebulon,NC area
Did this problem start after your EGR delete? Do you use OEM oil and fuel filters and OEM oil filter cap? Do you have any gauges that read live data like scan gauge II or one of the smartphone apps like dashboss for IOS devices or torque pro for android? Does it start normally after it is warmed up?
I would try parking it nose down over night to see if that helps with the long crank, if it does its because the shaft seal on the HPOP is leaking allowing the HPO reservoir to empty.
