I have a 95 F150 4x4 302 with 116000 miles and manual transmission. Recently I have replaced the Rear diff-e (last year), and clutch system (slave, master, clutch disc) (January). Over time the shifter would not stay in first, it would pop out intermittenly. Also it became more frequent that you had to work it into first. Suddenly on Friday I "lost" all gears except 3rd. It feels like the shifter is in first, but it is 3rd gear. Also, when I attempt to put in other gears, it acts like it is going to try to pull, but it doesn't. Does anyone know what this sounds like? I hope it is just a shift fork or something like that. I am just concerned about the dealership trying to "pull a fast one". Thanks for any help.
I remember seeing this in another post. Try doing a search through this board to see if you can find that post. I can't remember EXACTLY what it was, so I hesitate to throw out suggestions.
Do you have ZF trans or other? Info is on tag. If you need a trans or help go to blumenthalmfg.com
They have good prices on trans, good service, and ship anywhere (return freight on core). Hopefully you don't need one though. It's difficult to troubleshoot, not knowing which trans you have. Most ZF only have internal problems that are complex even if the problem is minor because you have to disassemble the trans. I am unfamilar with the MAZDA and do not even know on which trucks/years it was available.
