03 escape theft light flashes

03 escape theft light flashes

What does this mean. it still runs and drives locks and unlocks. but the rear hatch wont open. maybe the two are related. how do i get the hatch to open

The THEFT light has nothing to do with the rear hatch.

There is a thread or two about the hatch and how to open it from the inside. Just have to search for it, I know it's been a while.
