I just purchased a fantastic 2001 F250 7.3 Powerstroke Crew Cab Lariat in France. I believe this is the only one in my country!!!
I have a stupid question... : Given the size of our roads here, when I am not hauling my horses's van, I'm a bit bothered by the width of the vehicle, mainly due to the lenght of the side rear view mirrors's arms...
And I am reading that these mirrors are called "telescopic"
I trying to push / pull them to try and shortern the "arms", but it looks like I'm gonna break them if I insist.
Are they really "telescopic" ? A picture can be found in my gallery
Many many thks for your answer - and have a great end of week!!!
Bienvenue Fabrice. I think you'll find this site to be very useful for you. Unless the previous owner changed the original mirrors, they should be telescoping. Perhaps they are in all of the way already ... which means you would have to pull on them to extend them even further out.
Also, if the previous owner didn;t use this feature, they could be "seated" in place with dust, road grime etc. ~ Bugjr ~
Good evening Sunuvabug ! Thks a lot for your answer !
At the present time, my Mirror is 8.5 inches between the door where it is attached, and the inside side (vertical black plastic) of the Mirror
Do you know if this would be already "deployed" or already "in" ?
I will also try some WD-40 spray as you suggested, but I want to make sure I am pushing, only if there is no risk to break it, because it resists in both ways
Oui, je peux voir de vos photos que vous n'avez miroirs télescopiques. Ils semblent déjà être poussé à fond. Pour le vérifier, essayez de tirer un. Elle devrait s'étendre d'environ 4 pouces.
Hey Stuart.... once more for the slow kids please?
Hello and welcome to the Super Duty forum.
Yes, I can see from your photos that you have telescopic mirrors. They already seem to be pushed in. To check, try to pull one out. It should extend about 4 inches
you could swap them out for the smaller side mirrors or even the power folding mirrors....my 99 still gets noticed for its size here in the good ol USA yours must look like a circus freak in France

Thks all! Indeed, they can expand by about 4 inches, and not 2 like I mentioned last night - you were absolutely right
We'll see if I can used to it, or I'll swap to a European model
