US Gears

Anyone have any experience with the US Gears company? I'm looking at one of their gear splitters. Looks like a good deal.

Is this an Overdrive or Underdrive unit? I think I looked over there specs, pretty solid as compared to the gear vendors unit.

US Gears

I have been looking at both the US Gear and Gear Vendor units. I am going to go with Gear Vendor, even though they are more money. Their unit shifts the way I would expect a modern unit to shift. With a button and under power, even full throttle. You get what you pay for, as usual. The US Gear unit needs to be switched on, then a two second wait, then lift the accelerater to make the change. And it clunks when it shifts, according to their own information. Apparently it takes a bit of practice to shift smoothly and you're not going to do it fast, ever. It sounds just about like a 51 Chevy 2 ton with a 2 speed rear end I used to have, only with that you didn't have to wait 2 seconds and it didn't clunk. The shifts were almost instant. 1951. After reading everything on both websites I know which way I'm going.
