So next month I'm moving from frigid west slope Colorado (winter lows in -teens and summer highs in mid 70s) to Fort Lauderdale, Florida (winter lows in 60s and summer highs in 90s ).
I've been running the Rotella T6 5W-40 Synthetic oil year round here, but I know in warmer climates you don't necessarily want a 5W oil... I also run Final Charge EC-1 coolant with a slightly stronger than 50-50 mix... and finally I use Power Service with every fill up out here.
When I move to Florida, what recommendations do y'all have for warmer climate operations? Should I move to a 10W oil? Should I run a slightly higher concentration on my coolant? Keep using Power Service or don't worry about it? Any other changes I need to know about?
Oh yeah. Leave all of your winter clothes there. You will only need one medium jacket. Maybe one pair of pants, your main wardrobe here will be flip flops and shorts
Eh, sort of... loved it out here, and still do. But had an opportunity to get involved in real estate development and management down there with my dad and decided I wanted to jump on it.
But I lived down there for four years in high school and I know the weather! Definitely gonna enjoy being able to swim in January, and my wife is more excited than I am!
its cliche but desert hot and Florida hot are two different animals.
I lived in Palm Springs, CA area for 14 years 100 -114 is my optimum temp, 116+ it starts to get annoying. Florida @ 90 sucks monkey *****.
