Changing engines on a early 1989 2.9 Bronco II with Air and auto.
When pulling existing engine out--had to pull upper-lower manifold and distributor to access top bell housing bolts.
1. Is there a special wrench available for the distributor bolt??
2. What type wrench can be used to tighten the top bell housings bolts with only the distributor out
3. After the heads come back I would like to install most everything before installing to get good seals ---but still need to access those top bell housing bolts.
Any suggestions welcome??? Not a novice but no room to work!!
i swapped the 2.9 for another one in my 89 about a year ago and my favorite tool for that job was a stubby 3/8 drive swivel ratchet. worked great for the distributor as for the bell housing bolt i found a couple long extensions to reach it from under the truck worked pretty well for me.
