RAS adapter installation?

Have people been using the adapter (aka lengthening "thingee") that comes with the RAS for the excursion? It looks like the RAS will install fine without the adapter. This is for a 2000 4x4 if that matters. Thanks.

How much lift did you get from RAS without the lengthing adapter?

I got about 3/4" of an inch empty and it eliminates the sag when I get 6 adults inside, or lots of luggage in the back.
