Introducing myself and my '86 F-150
Hello FTE,
I have found your forums very helpful in getting started with my new/used truck. I would like to contribute as I can as I learn and do. Below is my first picture of the truck's exterior. Please go to my albums to read the captions for this and other pictures posted. I will try to update periodically.
My goal for this truck is to keep it stock for now and repair/replace all that is needed to make it run as smoothly and efficiently as possible. It is my daily driver and light duty work truck, so fuel efficiency and dependability are the highest priorities. It has a 2" ball on bumper and 4-pin wiring but will only ever be used to pull single-axle utility trailers with 3K# max GTW, and not often or far or fast.
My first highway trip of over 900 miles averaged 18mpg. First 1/2 highway-city mileage was 15mpg. Two city tanks since then have been 12mpg. With tune-ups and vacuum and electrical replacements I hope to get closer to 15 city and 20 highway in the first year.
I am a "green" collar laborer trying to keep the bills paid, so repairs will come in small bits as I am able. The goal today is to get the truck through it's first EVER winter. I am about to go dig it out to get to a small job that can't wait till tomorrow.
Thank you all ever so much. I will be in touch.

Thanks for hanging around and greeting us all, 2ndStroke. I am looking at your signature picture and wondering how those machines got up there and fit on the TOP of your bed. What kind of platform is holding them up? Innovative!
