painting the grille....
I didnt know where to put this sooo i just put it in here lol. I was just wondering if i can paint the grille on my 1991 F150? Its a Nite Edition so its black plastic. Its beginning to fade so id like to repaint with probably a raven black (same color as truck obviously).

be aware that painting plastic can melt it.
they sell plastic primer though I know. I'm just warning you if you do it yourself.
a bodyshop can paint just about anything for the right amount of $$$.

if you use a metal primer on plastic it melts, or does not bond to the plastic. I saw plastic primer at Lowes here in town. and I have seen commercials for the new Krylon plastic spray paint, that supposedly bonds to the plastic.
I'm by no means a professional, but I have seen normal paint eat up plastic before when I was spraypainting some plastic pieces.
