Okay guys, was helping my boss change out his rear sub-frame bushing on his 2000 Mercedes c class. So on the second bushing we changed the bolt snapped.... below is a picture of whats happening. Where the bolt head snapped, it is circled in red. There is now pressure from the car on the top of the bolt from the car, where the bushing is screwed in. Any ideas on how to get that out without taking the suspension apart, we are working with hand tools, no pneumatic tools. thanks in advance
I'm a bit confused So the head of the bolt snapped off but the bolt looks like it is totally unscrewed, should it just pull out of the bushing?? I'm not familiar with the car at all.
The brass looking piece on top of the bushing is threaded, where the bolt comes out from the top. that is part of the kit i used to get the bushing in. I cannot turn it because the pressure on the bolt from the body of the car. And honestly I'm not familiar with the car either but i have done many bushing replacements. Also that brass looking bolt is part of the bearing pusher/puller, not the stock bolt that goes into the body from the bushing. There was a bottom piece to the brass looking thing but is no longer held on since the head snapped off. I was a little nerve racking when it snapped
