I just have to give props to Alcoa Wheels. I have a set of older Alcoa LTS wheels... I was going to put them on my '79 F350...until I found a crack in one of them. So I started digging. I found that Alcoa issued a Complete recall on all LTS wheels #167011....just so happens that this is the exact wheel I have!
So a quick call to Buddy @ Alcoa and I have a BRAND NEW set of Alcoa Classics on their way to my home. FREE OF CHARGE! They will even pay for mounting and balancing and pick up the old wheels!!!!
So for anyone looking to buy FORGED wheels for their trucks(gonna be a bit spendy) I would HIGHLY suggest Alcoas.
Now THAT'S what I call "customer service." However, for Alcoa, it's a whole lot cheaper to give out new wheels and pay for mounting and balancing compared to a multimillion dollar lawsuit due to a fatal accident caused by a known manufacturing defect.
I have a buddy that went thru the same process 3 or 4 yrs ago. He had a crack in just one of the Alcoa wheels so he took it in to a local tire & wheel shop to get it replaced and they told him about the "recall". They gave him the phone # of Alcoa and he called them and they sent him (4) new wheels. He got the Alcoa Part 167001A, which are the one's that were on the F250/350 models back in 92-97...Me personally, I like the replacement wheels much better than the one's he sent back with the crack. But, yeah Alcoa's customer service is outstanding--plus their wheels look great!!
So...I need more important things for my truck right now...I am going to be selling these Alcoas. Does $850 sound out of line? Remember, these are BRAND NEW.
