Question Emission plumbing, I think?

Just purchased a 86 Bronco with a 351 (M)?, but anyway, there's what looks like some kind of breather tube?? coming off the back of the heads on both sides to a point right behind the intake manifold. The air pump and smog stuff have been taken off this bronco and a different carb adde (Holley 4160).

Where the tubes meets, a Pepsi can was taped on to hold back something.......Can I plug this off at the heads? Could it be leaking exhaust gases?

Your engine is a 351 Windsor, not a 351M.

Those tubes are remnants of the Thermactor AIR (smog pump) plumbing. If you aren't using the Termactor system, you can plug them off at the back of the heads. If not plugged, the tubes will allow an exhaust leak.
