That was a good catch on your part before the drums went on

emblems came out great, and good to hear everything seems to be coming along with the truck.

thinking of doing the same to my emblems when the weather gets cold, but it hasn't been under 70 for the high the past couple days....how did you polish and what compound did you use?

Believe it or not, I used some of my old stash of Dupont in the glass bottle.
Picked 6 bottles out of an auto parts store dumpster back in the '60's. Just hand rubbed the pieces a couple times.

I don't think they look like "too much", once they're on a plain looking old truck.

As posted on the "heater control" thread, I had to repair the lever, after finding the parts scattered about the truck.

In an effort to loosen up the cables, I decided to go all the way in, and I'm glad I did. This could be why the fan didn't work!
An overheated motor might have resulted in a serious cockpit fire.

Next stop was the defroster ducts. Mudwasps had chewed holes and built their nests in there. After chipping out the mud, I did the old plywood and spray bottle trick to straighten them out.

Then, two laminations of fiberglass cloth and two coats of resin. I've seen prettier jobs done on these, but none stronger. These should last a long time!

I glassed the insides of the neck where the hoses go on, so as not to increase the OD.

Next step is to deal with the broken windshield. I sourced a nice used one, and a side window, from a very helpful member here. Thanks, Blaine!
After treating some rust in the passenger's side corner, and installing the chrome trim on the replacement windshield, (what a pain!) with a new Dennis Carpenter seal, I'm ready to pull the rope.

Thanks, spur....will do! I've got a spray bottle all mixed up with the slippery stuff. Just have to collar one of my ranch hands (sons) to help push.
