Planning a clevor maf build.

Just finishing up a maf conversion on my 92 4x4
F150. Swapped in obd-2 and a manual transmission with centre force clutch. Long tube headers and true duel exhaust with x-pipe magnaflow.

Leaving for my second year of automotive tech and have to rebuild a engine in class.

I got for free a 351w roller that was overheating.
I diagnosed it for the PO and had hydrocarbons in the coolant. So the head gasket is toast or the head is cracked I figure.

Found a set of 351c 4v 76 cc heads for 250
4v heads are even more rare in Canada so even the 76ers are good.

Just need a little insight on:
1: pistons
2: intakes
3: camshaft. Preferably kit with new roller lifters

I'm thinking
1: KB 110 pistons for 9.6 to 1
2: Trick Flow TFS-51611115 intake.
3. ????

I know I will have some loose ends to tie up.
Like new headers or cut off Windsor flange and weld on Cleveland one.

Is there an efi intake that will match up to the heads?
2V Cleveland heads will work better on the street than the 4V heads.

From what I am reading into. Yes.
The 4v open chamber is what I am looking at buying
One day I plan on stroking this engine to 408.
So more head will be alright

Other than the novelty of the project I see no need to go with a Clevor now that there are very affordable and well designed Windsor heads out on the market these days.

Yep....you pay a premium for a 1-off intake and headers and for what.. 430hp?

Well I don't know how much that will help a decision, I thought they were gonna compare a modern 351 Windsor build to a 351 Cleveland but they ended up building a 408 Clevor and a 357 Cleveland so it's kinda hard to say.

The origin of this engine combo was to get a better bottom end, and the best production head at the time. They were taking the 400m crank that has same bearing size as the 351w and cutting counterweights down to fit in the block, then using Chrysler 6 rods and custom piston for the compression. It worked well.
Now with the head design and aftermarket support, good flowing heads are easy to find, and have hundreds of intakes to fit. The cleavor requires a specific intake to run, which you'll need to source a "street boss" or "track boss" older intake, or conveniently edelbrock makes this intake now for street use. But sadly no efi option.

Exhaust spacing of the 351c heads don't match up well with the 351w exhaust ports, and you'd need to start with an expensive large port Windsor header like for dart heads or something because you can get them with huge ports. But they won't match well to the truck. Maybe a 460 header could be cut up.
Or team up with a welder at school and build headers with sch10 pipe and they will last forever. (Don't say it's too heavy because l&l makes their headers from it and they kickass)

Oh
The Cleveland head is based off the 302boss head. Which actually requires a very specific piston dome for optimal combustion. (One reason why the 351-400m is a terrible engine with dished pistons)
Do your research. Do what you really want to do. It will be unique and no one can take credit away from you when you're done. Prove who you can become when someone says it can't be accomplished, ask for help along the way, there's nothing wrong with it. We are here to help, and give criticism when it's fresh in our heads.
