How's everybody doin out there tonight! Personally, I had a long hard a day of workin out in this frigid Kansas weather and now sippin on a few coldies if I do say so myself. Here's the thing. My 04' FX4 rear door locks hesitate to open with the key fob or the door switch. I can get them to open sometimes but not everytime. Anyone have any idea why this is happening?
Good looking truck.
Have you replaced the window switches? They tend to get picky right before they crap out. Look at rockauto they have parts cheap and I'd start with the drivers door switch. It's the most expensive but it's also a master switch and the rest are slaves. If the master don't work, slaves won't either.
If you wanna not spend money pull the panel and make sure it's all clean and use graphite lube.
Best of luck.
Hey, thanks for the reply. The guy I bought it from told me they replaced the switches before they sold it. I lubed up the mechanical parts I could get to and that seems to have helped. Fingers crossed...
Reminds me of my window. The driver's window began to only operate if it felt like it. A little grease on the window slider and now it works perfectly. I really don't know why that fixed the issue, but it did and it's been working ever since. My passenger window motor though is getting to be really weak so I try to not use that window because I'm expecting it to at one point not go back up.

Replacing window motors isn't too bad. Worst part is dealing with the door trim. I had an '87 Bronco that I replaced motors for both door windows and the rear glass, also. They would just get weaker and weaker. I also had to replace the motors on my '93 F150. My current crop of Fords are still doing OK, but when the time comes, just dig in and do it.

Yep, I've done some window motors before and I have the door panel removal process memorized. I'm just on call right now for out-of-province work so I can't be tearing my truck apart at the moment.
