Engine Miss
ECM, EGR, TPS, PLUGS, WIRES, CAP, ROTOR, CAMGEAR, HEAD GASKET, INTAKE and EXHAUST MANIFOLD GASKETS, IAC SOLINOID GASKET, INJECTOR, COMPLETE DISTRIBUTOR, checked all rockers and camlift, compression on all cylinders, all above 90 cold and dry. When the cylinder head was off, I checked the vaccum checked the valves all ok, no bleed down. The pistons all look good, no scoring on the cylinder walls. The miss is only on number one cylinder. I switched the injector with another cylinder still the same. I have removed the entire wiring harness and inspected for rubbed through spots, found nothing. I checked fuel pressure, right on the money, I beleive it was 60 psi. I have given up on this, the local Ford dealer has no idea why and still cost me 480.00 to tell me this. Any ideas out there??????
1. How do you know #1 cylinder is missing?
2. You indicated the head was off, was this a recent repair? Why did you pull the head?
3. What did you mean, you changed injectors, still #1 is missing? Did you physically change the injectors? This is important clue to help isolate the cause.
4. Did you just perform a visual inspection of the wires? Did you performa an electrical continuity check? Wiggled the wires while checking?
I bet if you write down what you have done, you can take a systematic approace to isolate the true problem and will be able to solve it.
