Here's the vehicle, '65 F100 shortbed with 352, c6, 370 (I think!) rear end.
I plan on putting the original 3.03 toploader trans. back in it, but it measures almost a foot shorter than the c6.
Because of this, I'm 99% sure I need a different drive shaft to compensate that new-found distance the shorter 3.03 would create.
My question is how long is that driveshaft..what is the stock length?
Anyone with a shortbed 3-speed standard shift want too get handy with their tape?
You had started the other thread on this. The parts manual for these things lists all the combinations. Not a lot for Econoline and not too bad for F250, but for F100 2WD there are a lot of choices. 5 pages. Not only long and short bed, but different transmissions and quite a number of different rear axles. The 3.03 you said was a 3 speed, I take it without overdrive. The rear axle ratio might narrow it down, but it's more is it a Ford 9", Dana 44, Dana 60 (sort of doubting this one). Here's some of the info. Hopefully this helps. Lots of possible combinations.
