I realize this is talked to death but I'm in a bit of a time crunch here and I need quick info/opinions. I got the call from the dealer earlier, EGR cooler is indeed leaking, oil cooler replacement highly recommended even tho apparently I already have the upgraded part. So thanks to all the help here at FTE so at least I knew what to expect. Anyways, my stupid warrantee won't cover either one (but they will cover the leaky glow plug harness which was only a by-the-way, headbang) but the dealer is ok with installing aftermarket parts. So I wanna just delete the damn thing & be done with it. Their tech says the delete kits that include the up pipe are finicky to install and tend to leak, and mentioned Sinister diesel in the same breath. Recommended simple block off kit.
Opinions? I have no emissions requirements here and would prefer to remove as much of that damned thing as possible. Are there any oil cooler upgrades other than the high dollar Bulletproof remote style?
OEM oil cooler is fine and if dealer is doing it they now have 24 months unlimited mileage warranty... I won't comment on egr cooler, lots of opinions here.

I will comment on the egr delete.
I used a cheaper ADT delete and it works great, comes with up pipe and some cheap hose clamps which I would suggest to upgrade before installing, but otherwise I would say its a exceptional quality kit.
On the other hand the IPR gen2 kit is a guaranteed non leaker. However you will pay more for it.

I would recommend the IPR gen2 kit also. The pipe is a MUCH higher quality and the cooler delete is a great piece with no hose or clamps to worry about down the road. That's the way I'd go if my bulletproof would allow.....
I've been eyeballing this kit too, looks great. Question....you have a choice of block off plate or up pipe. Does the block off plate install on the turbo Y pipe? And if someone chooses the pipe, where does it go? Any pics?
Thanks
EDIT.....Nevermind, I figured it out.... the $40 up pipe replaces the factory up pipe and goes between the passenger exhaust manifold and the Y pipe. It eliminates the port that went to the EGR cooler. If you go the block off plate route, the plate blocks the port that used to feed the EGR cooler with exhaust.

The block off plate attaches to the passenger side up-pipe where the EGR cooler would have been. Get the replacement up-pipe.
LivingLarge, you mention a warrantee on the updated OEM oil cooler, any more info on that?
How about the list of "might-as-wells" while they're in there? The oil drain tube comes to mind, anything else worth upgrading?
Ford announced a couple weeks back, that all parts and labor performed at a ford dealer will now have a 24 month unlimited mileage warranty . I just had my oil cooler replaced and warranty confirmed by service department.
