Clock setting on radio

Clock setting on radio
I think I must be dumb or something.
My '03 has the same stereo system (or so I think) that my '00 had (AM/FM/Cass/Single CD). For some reason I cannot figure out how to change the radio settings so that it automatically switches back to the clock after changing channels or cd track or volume.....etc. I also couldn't find anything in the manual about this. My '00 stereo already did this when I bought it so I never thought twice about it. Just kind of a pain always having to press the clock button.
FYI it does automatically switch to the clock after I press the clock button so long as I don't turn the ignition off. The next time I start the truck however, I have to press the button again.

Probably should have done the search for this topic first.
However the info I found in some of the previous posts didn't help, except the one that said the radio may have a problem and I should get it checked out under warranty.
Any ideas?
