Heavy tow today....
My '93 F250 with 196,000 on the 7.3 diesel pulled 8,600 lbs up a steep grade for 5 miles....had to put it in low 4x4 to climb out of this valley. On the road though ran great and didn't use OD due to the load. It was a low-boy with an IHI trac-hoe if anyone cares. (Dug footers for the horse barn and a pond today).
Anyone else pull loads like this?

31 degrees and 4.10 gear ratio I think....gotta check it sometime, but I think I'm right given fuel mileage. Thanks a bunch for this question.smiling hear!! Where do you live, I'm in the mountains in NC.

Heavy tow today....
I'm on the left coast-- southern California. I have to pull about 9500 lbs over a fairly steep, long mountain grade. Then another mountain grade later on.
But-- and here I am breathing a sigh of relief-- it is nothing like 31 degrees!
