Neil another one to check out is the Samsung Galaxy tablet..

That has some good reviews

Been doing some research on them along with the iPad & Kindle Fire so that is why I was asking. I did notice that was one of the nice things about the Surface and they seem to be a hot item.

My wife has an older Samsung Galaxy tablet that has been good, except now the battery is being testy and is not holding a charge. This one is tied in with a data plan with our cell provider. I am looking at getting somethinng that has wifi capabilities so we are not tied to a cell provider.

I would probably go with the Kindle Fire due to the cost being cheapest..

Your probably gonna use it like I use the IPAD...

Just check email, post on FTE and light internet browsing and a few games..

I believe you can get all of them without cell service just WIFI

That is pretty much what my thoughts are. If I need the horsepower of a computer, then I will use the desktop. Each piece of technology has its limits and as a user, we need to learn what those are.

The nice thing about the Surface is the Type cover which would make using it much easier. But is that ease worth the addtional cost?
