still unsure what i'm going to do with them, tire choices are getting thinner and more expensive for 16.5's, but they are cool looking, pretty sure i still have the center caps and lug nuts too.
The 16.5 military takeoffs that are bias ply 36's or radial 37's are are $50 to $80 around me....always an option? The newest takeoffs BFG baja 37"s are even better tread.
yeah i'm still not sure what i'm going to do with them, 16.5 tire options are getting thin and pricey but still think if i painted them the color of the truck they would look pretty cool. love the old school look that they have. i'm pretty sure if i look hard enough that i'll find the center caps and lug nuts for them as well.
yeah my cousin had a set of the old military 36"rs on his mud truck but got rid of the truck before i could tell him that i wanted them. not sure if a military tire would look right on these rims though.
i knew there was differences in count of spokes, but when i read from you 77&79 that you said there were 16 and 18 spoke ones, and when i counted my uncles to be 15.......i was confused, but figured i wouldnt say anything to see if others noticed
most likely depends on the manufacturer but not totally sure. my biggest question is if the paint is original or not, any pictures i find are either aluminium, chrome or black not red.
Yea 15,16,17,18 spokes, I guess it all depends on the maker. I like red and I have seen a reverse of black on the raised part of the fins and brushed rough aluminium on the lower part. All I have ever seen were all alum color to start with.

yeah, makes sense, still one of my favorites along with the slots from that era
to sell or not to sell, Christmas is right around the corner and the extra money would be nice, but once i sell them their gone all gone , no more cool truck rims, no more old school look , no more gawking at them as i type this ( i have them in my dining room ) just a whole lot of kicking myself in the *** when it comes time to purchase new ones.
Trust me DO not sell them, donate blood instead. I regret selling my aluminium spoke's, in fact I am looking into possible getting another set and it might end up costing me more $. So I might regrettably say no, but I really liked them and should of never sold them in the first place.
yeah nothing beats the old school rims on the older trucks, really makes em look all the bunch better.
I really want a set of the old school wagon wheels, like the set to the far left of your picture of your shed hoarding(jealous none the less), but not sure if they came in a 16.....
You mean these, or these? Both 16.5, but cool none the less. Or how about these for different?
The white spokes are Firestone Duplex and the black ones are Jackmans.
Yes at times I have way to much time to cruise the Craigslist and pack rat rims, but I always seem get a pretty good deal on them, so I can't say no. lol
