Ratling noise when braking

Ratling noise when braking
2004 F150 FX4 5/1 bed
Recently I noticed that when it is cold outside, I hear a cracking/ratling noise when I apply my brakes when coming to a stop. This happens only the first one or two times when the truck is cold. Once it warms up, it goes away. But I did also notice that when I accelerate from stop, I get a second or two of ratling/cracking noise. This happens every time I press the accelerator from stop. It appears noise is coming from driver side under the hood. I am going to check today if anything is loose, but wanted to post to see if anyone got any ideas.
