I have a 94' F-150, 300ci motor, 4x4, E4OD trans, 150,000 miles. Last night I was driving down the road and all the sudden my motor started revving really high and I lost all forward momentum. I got stopped and tried all the other gears, nothing else worked except Reverse! When I tried to put the trans in park it would buzz real loud, what’s this mean? I haven’t tried a whole lot of stuff yet because it was late in the night. The truck is being towed to my house right now and when I get off from work I'm going to tear into it and see what's going on. Any ideas?!?! The transmission fluid was a little burnt, I think I'll check the trans filter first and see if it's got anything in it. I thought about the torque converter too but I don't know a lot about torque converters so if someone could help me out I'd appreciate it. This is my daily driver so please; any ideas will help out a lot.
drumguy,
sound like what happened to me but all my gears still work except for overdrive. i've been told its my input shaft inside trannny took a dump. planning on having tranny rebuilt when i have the cash. until then camping is out of question.
