I hope someone can help me. I was just given a set of 351c heads.
I can not find a cross referance to the casting numbers. The numbers on both heads are D4AE and then in a different location AA and in yet another location 28. The date code puts these as being manufactured in September (one head) and October (the other head) of 1973.
The D4AE code is a 1974 code but I can find no head info for this code, only block ID and that relates to a 351/400m not a cleveland.
well I have been confused for awhile now. My heads are D1Ae off of a 71 400 in a 72 LTD. Only one head has a raised nimber in the corner and it's a four. I haven't heard of 4v heads on a 400 in 71-72, and the ports are not any bigger than the ones in my cracked MCC 77 heads, just the valve guides and therm bumps are greatly reduced. Should I have a raised number in each head or just one? Just because here is a raise four does that meen they are 4v? somebody straighten me out
Thanks for the help so far. I know that the coding puts these as a 1974 model head and that they were manufactured (by date code referance) in September and October of 1973.
I can't find a referance to D4AE as a casting number on a head, only on a block (the 351/400m).
Any additional input would be appreciated.
