Hey guys I only have another hour of day lights today but here's the story. I am switching over to 08 door panels so in my attempt to rewire the door locks I crossed a bunch of wire that I shouldn't have because I had the wrong pin out and I shorted out the circuit. I rebuilt my 08 switches with the 04 parts so now I can reuse my old wiring connectors. I just soldered the old connectors back on and replaced the 30 amp fuse for the power locks. for some reason only the lock function on the passenger side works and it locks both doors but I have no unlock function on the passenger side or anything on the drivers side. Are there any other fuses that I could have missed? I don't have long to do anything invasive but as far as fuses I have all day to replace them. Basically I shorted stuff then I put everything back to the way it was stock and now my locks no worky
If the Right side operates the Lock function that eliminates a blown Fuse (since theres only 1) but i wonder if theres any Fusible-Link Wire in there
Never had to work on this problem & i dont have a wiring diagram so iam not much help at all Matt....Sorry
Are u sure all Wire's went where they should've on reassembly
I do believe there's a Door Lock Control Module, wonder if u killed it
Thanks for repmying king. The wiring is connected back to the factory configuration. Do I have a VS or and lock relays? My truck didn't come with the factory remote keyless entry so I'm not sure if I have those, I've got some diagrams but tracing it's a pain lol. Starting to think my actuators might be toast if I was forcing power into them continuously it might have fried the resistors...maybe I'm no electrical genius lol.
Will do thanks petro! Are the relays there even if I didn't have keyless entry stock? I ohmed out both switches and they worked. So switches are good, fuse is good next I'll do what you suggested. I'll have to wait until tomorrow afternoon...hate winter there's no daylight.
I don't if relays are there is no keyless entry. Search keyless entry test in the search box.
Think you cycle key off-on like 7to11 times. If its there your locks will cycle.
So the one that works should move.
I love my headlamps. Wear one at least twice a wk piddling with carpet cleaning van after dark. They are priceless
Pull radio and get flash light and see if there is 1in x 4 in plastic cover back there. The relays are behind it. On my 2000 anyway. Also some trucks have anti theft device module behind dash too.
Just pulled the radio and I can't. See the firewall behind it because the vent ducts are in the way would removing the lower dash allow me to see them?
Sorry I did not, it was supposed to snow today and my 95's tired are bald lol so I buttoned her up to use her today...only to get a dusting -__-. I'll start pulling the dash again tonight.
