93 Ranger Emissions
I have a 93 ranger with the four cylinder that failed California emission testing. It passed every test except for the NO test. I am at 972 PPM (max allowable is 775) on the 25mph test (2858 rpm). The truck passed the NO test at 15 mph (1742 RPM). The smog tech said that this could indicate problem with EGR system that causes it to be too hot. He indicated that it could be valve or something plugged EGR valve test and clean procedure is in the shop manual . Any suggestions before I get started? Thank you!

Welcome to FTE!!!

I would start with the EGR like he said. Do you have A CEL on?
