Hi all,
I have just dropped off my C6 for a rebuild...extra clutch pack and shift kit. I have ordered the B&M shift kit, but from what I've been reading alot of people prefer the transgo. Could someone who's installed and ran the B&M let me know what sort of luck and performance they had? Thank-You.
i've put sevral of them in older c-6's, and have had excellent results...........theres the shift improver kit, and the more expensive trans pak, about 60 bucks if i remeber corectly. the more expensive kits work better and give you 3 levels to choose from...........some complain about the b@m but i've had nothing but better results over stock in c-4's and c-6's
I installed A B&M Transpak in the C-6 when I pulled the I-6 out of my '82 F-150 @ 180,000 miles. I was VERY happy with performance (installing a 302 w/ CompCams RV cam, Hedman hedders and true duals probably didn't hurt), nice firm shifts - - how they ought to be. I drove that truck until it had 336,000 and sold it to friend who is still using it to haul wood. Tranny has been solid. I would not hesitate to use another B&M in a C-6.
I have used both B&M shift improving kits in the Oldsmobile cars I've owned in the past with good results. As far as my Ford trucks go, my Tranny shop uses nothing but Transgo and swears by them... and well... after putting over 170,000 miles on my C-6 in my 1970 F-100 w/transgo kit. I would say that I like it. I currently have 20,000 on the C-6 in my Bronco and I like it so far.
