Hey All! I swear I'm going to post some actual photos of my truck one day. Right now its getting a top end rebuild and a few other things.
I have a couple questions: 1970 F100 v8
I have a reservoir for windshield washer fluid, but am not sure what other parts I'm in need of to get it functioning. I may have them already installed and not know it because I'm not familiar with where to look for or what to look for. Any guidance would be helpful.
I also have a blank space for a radio, I'd like to put in whatever was in there originally, but does it have to be from my year or truck? I know they make retro ones that look old but have todays features, any suggestions?

As always I appreciate everyone's input. Thanks!
Post a pic or else it doesn't exist!
Reservoir.
Your description is REALLY vague. I mean, ya can't tell us whether the wiring is in place? Does the reservoir have a pump mounted at the bottom? The pump is fitted to the reservoir through a rubber grommet and has a flat two-wire connector. There should be a corresponding two-wire connector on the left (driver) inner fender. The pump has one output port to which connects to a tee on the upper seam of the firewall. The tee has one input and two outputs... the output hoses run parallel to each other and each connects to a nozzle screwed to the firewall.
Radio.
'not sure of the swappability. You could use the internet to research which head units are compatible among various years. By powers of deduction, I am sure it can be figured out. Look at the application notes to determine whether any cutting is required. Looks like the Bumps had Philco brands. I doubt Ford changed the design among the 68-72 series. 67s tend to be the oddball. Personally, they look rather standard through and including 1979. There are a few on Ebay as we speak.... DO SOME RESEARCH!!

It may seem vague to you, but if there was anything other than what I mentioned I would have stated, which I did state by saying "all I have is..." Followed by "i don't know what else to look for". Your reply will help me conduct a good search to see if I have any other parts you mentioned, but my theory is the PO didn't finish that project.
I've done a lot of research on the radio, just wanted input if anyone has used retro radio.

Your first statement makes it sound like going with an OEM radio is the main goal. Then the subject changes to retro radios with new features.
Can't be all that confusing because you're able to comment on how I mentioned stock radio AND retro radio (in my original post not just the second), but among all my research I got the feeling that they only had AM radio capabilities and I'm a child of the 80's and need my music, so I believe I will be going retro radio with capabilities to plug up my ipod/telephone/flash drive. It's got a good look.
I'll see about photos of my most likely non existing washer pump. If anyone else has photos or info that'd be awesome. Thanks for the input on what to look for.

.. I didn't comment on retro head units. The reference to ebay was in reference to Philco units.

Then why was this even stated?????
Nonetheless and moving on........
Pics below of the washer pump and connections. The connector is dangling and not connected at this moment. 'Hope it helps.

The PO of my truck really HACKED up the dash and it pi$$es me off till this day (even though I welded and smoothed it shut).
IMO, these rigs' dash is easier to fix than a 65/66 Mustang! Here's one hacked for a DIN chassis. My 65 is a victim too and yet to be repaired
I left my dash intact but put on a 2 **** Sony about 10 yrs ago.....it now has static on the volume switch. When I get that cam installed that will be what I am wanting to listen to....
I got an aftermarket radio AM/FM/ with a USB plug about 5 yrs ago from Custom auto sounds. I have the usb port going into the glove box so as not to be seen.
It has the ford logo on the face that makes it kind of look ONM. Fit perfect no cutting
Theirs one bad thing about it can't play copyright music that's been copied.
But will play song from a usb flashdrive if you rip them from a cd..
I'm happy with it tho!
orich
Yeah the tuner & volume controls are adjustable for different widths of face plates. Also has a plug for a remote cd player.. It's a clean oem install no cutting of metal any where.
A little pricey but what the hell no messing up the glove box inner case.
Hell the glove box is the first place a thief looks. One yank on a am/fm/cd radio and it's gone.
These go in the same way as the oem radios do through the glove box door into the back side of the dash.. orich
Super great photos, thanks. Also for the stereo input...most of my music is...ahem...barrowed so I certainly don't want to buy something that won't play my music.
That is one butchered dash. Thankfully mine is intact with the tabs and all so I am leaning toward the retro style, with updated features. I think the one I'd like is somewhere around $250 which isn't too shabby.
I still find it hard to swallow the price of the radios for these trucks. Back in the 80's they couldn't hardly give them away as the CD player was the latest and greatest. I used to be able to walk into almost any parts store or walmart/Kmart type store and get a cassette radio with 6x9s for about $30. I guess this is because time moved on.
Time moving on oh yeah the 1980's to 2013, I also moved on from 50 to the 70's.
I came across an old 66 T-bird 8 track am/fm radio at the pnp Jy 15 bucks a good number of yrs ago. Well I checked out ebay some were selling from $50-$250 bucks.
I tested this thing out and it would not play tapes, only AM made some crackling noise.
Okay, I found a guy online that rebuilds them for a flat rate of $250. so, I shxt caned it. and moved on. No more getting radios to resale for me..orich
