I noticed my cruise control doesnt come on anymore. My last trip in October, all worked fine.I dont see a fuse listed Iin the manual. Is there something I can check to get my cruise back?
I don't remember exactly but there was a recall or something where they put I believe a fusible link in the harness close to the master cylinder area. I might suggest checking the connection there but purely a guess and by know means a knowledgeable subject for me.
Does your OD light blink? The reason I ask is I had a VSS sensor on the rear diff go bad and the OD light blinked and cruise didn't work. I replaced the VSS sensor and pigtail to make it go away. Do you have a way to check for codes? If so what do have if any?
The OD light doesn't blink. I don't have any major codes through AE and I don't see anything on the master cylinder that looks like a plug.
Theres a switch on the master cylinder on the end pointed down at an angle towards the driverside inner fender ,that's what the recall was about it will leak brake fluid and short out not a big problem for us diesel guys but it will stop your cruise from working , in the gas trucks they would catch on fire.
Thanks for the link, I do not have that sensor, nor do I have a place for that sensor. I'm not where I can upload a pic, but will be back home tomorrow. It's a 9 hour run home and Cruise would be a nice thing to have.

Since you have AE, switch over to the ABS system and verify that all sensors are showing mph in sync. Then switch back to enhanced mode and check the brake and cruise switch function correctly.
I wanted to update this thread. After digging and looking I found I the Cruise Control sensor is on the very lower side of my Excursion Master Cylinder and I couldn't see it unless I was on a latter. I plugged it back in and all is good! Thanks for all the help!
i have money on it being unplugged because of the recall, and the recall was not done.
get the recall done ASAP. if the switch leaks, it will short out the wiring and your truck will burn up.
that is why people unplug the switch.
