I bought a 2002 Ford F250 with a V10 and when it started missing I took it to a friend to hook up his scanner and to our surprise no plug. Lots of wires but no obd2 plug,is this something I can buy and how would I go about re-wiring it? Please,,need some help anyone!!

Not sure about your state of Illinois but here in Cal, to pass the smog certification requirements, they have to plug into the OBD plug to communicate with your vehicle.
Once connected, they know Everything about this truck. VIN # for starters.
Even if you had to clear codes to pass, they measure the time since clearing these codes, requiring a certain amount of drive time, etc.
If the same there, get it fixed before registration comes along.
