Fuel Gauge Issues
Hey guys just wondering if anyone has any advice on a problem with my truck. 1987 F-150 4.9L Dual Gas Tanks. When i originally bought the truck the gas gauge would only accurately work above a half tank. Now it doesnt work at all. It is stuck above full. If anyone has any good advice on where it start it would be greatly appreciated. Gauge is stuck above full even when switched to the other tank. I`ve heard a bad ground wire can cause this? Where should i start to diagnose this? Should i just trace the fuel system wiring and check for any broken wiring? Ive also heard that the floats in the fuel tanks has sunk but that seems very unlikely for both to have sunk. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks
