I just finished getting my newly rebuilt 460 into my 78 F150 Supercab Ranger XLT. The truck origianlly had a 400, and most everything fit right into place. the only problem I have is my accelerator linkage. I've read that this year used the same adjustable arm and linkage for the V8s. With the Edelbrock Performer RPM intake I'm using, the accelerator rod doesn't come any where near the carb, much less the stud lol. Any suggestions? I'd hate to top this lovely engine off with a rigged coat hanger or the like, but I need this truck ready to go in 1 week! HELP! Thanks!
OK i done figgered it out! I am such a moe! well the rod is plenty long enough, I just assumed the point were it stopped unscrewing on me was as far as it went. A little WD40 and voila!its plenty long enough.
