i just wanted to know if you could put heated/signal towing mirrors on a 2003 F350 lariat with only power towing mirrors. i guess the factory didn't have them yet to install. would all the wiring be there? also what is the difference between an F350 and an F250.and heavyduty and superduty? thank you!
You could take the door apart and double check for the wiring. F-350 is a one ton truck and F250 is a 3/4 ton truck. This references the load capacity of the truck.

I'm not sure, what are you reading about to ask this question??
I put on PowerVision aftermarket power extending mirrors and love them. The new wiring harness plugged right into the factory install. Had to cut a hole in the drivers side armrest for the extender button and run that wire. Running the wires through the door holes took the most time.
I don't know for sure, but I heard that PowerVision had signal mirrors. Check them out.

"Superduty" is the brand name for the series of F250/F350/F450 that are model year '99 to present.
"Heavy Duty" is in reference to some of pre '99 model F250s etc. Not sure which ones. I sold some tires to a guy with a '97 F250 PSD and when he came to pick them up I noticed his truck said "Heavy Duty" on the fender.
Also, prior to Heavy Duty we had F250 HD. SuperDuty used to be 1 1/2 ton up, e.g. F450. Heavy duty generally means 8700/8800 lb. GVWR. Maybe 8500 or 8600 depending on year. To me it means"hard working truck for a hard working man/person."
Sometimes there are different options available between F250 & F350. Gov't requirements are different for >10000 lbs. F350 can be more differentiated by FordFleet.
There's about $1000 difference in new trucks with the same options. I have F250 and F350. They are identical by drivetrain only, except F350 is DRW flatbed. Ride is much firmer and stable in F350 when loaded, more comfortable and faster in F250. MPG is a little less in F350 but might not be if it was SRW.
I'd be happy with either one. No half ton, 5/8ths, or 3/4 LD work truck for me! I love the big brakes.
I just completed this swap. I yelled enough that the dealer supplied the heated mirrors at no charge, and I installed them. My argument was that a '03 truck should have come with '03 mirrors.
Anyway, to answer your question, the only wires I found were the three used to control the electric mirror movement. The flat plug however, was there with enough holes for all the appropriate wires.
I pulled 3 trucks on my dads lot to swap mirrors and they were all wired for any factory option it looked like? There is an extra wire I thought it was for a turn sig but it could be heat? Both my brother and I swapped to the power tow mirrors I got them for $265 at a local dealer.
