Hey, I have a '88 F250 4x4,94,000 miles.
After 3 months of repair yesterday we took it out on the road. It is a automatic. It seems to have to work real hard to get up to speed, but does not have trouble keeping it there. Any thoughts? Also, The Steering is loose. I know its an old truck but isn't there any way to tighten up the steering?
Thanks,
Staci
What size engine do you have? You can adjust the steering by adjusting the steering box, but i don't know how, someone else will have to fill you in.

to tighten your steering your going to need a wrench and a flat tip screwdriver. On the top of your steering box you'll see a bolt sticking out that has a slot in it,,and a jam nut on it. Loosen up the jam nut, tighten the bolt, slowly...go a quarter or less turn a time...tighten the nut and test drive it.
