I am currently in the process of finishing up a 300 and I want to drop it in my 76 ranger the only prob is the six came out of a 80 bronco with a four speed manual. And I want to keep an automatic in my ranger, I was wondering if the c6 for the 360 has the same bolt pattern as the 300, I appreciate any help with this problem. I used to have a 74 custom with a 300 with a 3 on the tree and I loved that motor, would like to get rid of the guzzler and put a stump puller in it.
No the bellhousing is different. You will have to change the trans or find a case from a 240, 300, 302, 351w and put current trans internals in it. Use flexplate from 240/300 only do not use one from a v8. I think the converter is different on FE engines also.

Yeah I got a 300 automatic flywheel, but what about the engine spacer plate, will I have to use one for a 302 to bolt to the bellhousing and bolt my starter up.
Also another quick question I found a automatic C6 for a 302 hows that going to affect the gears in my rearend. Will I have to swap the differential for the one out of the same pickup the tranny is coming out of, or will I still be able to get by with the gears in mine. Hey I apreciate all the help with my situation, the damage so far with the tranny a new motormount, and having my radiator redone is a little under 200.00 and I think it will be well worth it. I love my ranger, and I like the power and torque of the 300 I really hope that it turns out like you all have told me. Thanks rangerboy.
