Hey everyone... In new to this forum. I just purchased a 1995 F150 XL with 80K OG miles on it. Its got a 300 I6 EFI with the 5 speed manual tranny and manual locks/windows... ie; no frills. It was an old man's and is super clean. After looking around for a replacement for my recently-smashed 1971 VW Double Cab truck, and after looking at countless trucks of all makes, this was where I landed. So far I couldnt be happier. I think this truck is a perfect fit for me.
I have been into vintage VWs (notchbacks, squarebacks, and bay window busses/trucks) for almost 20 years and was into vintage MOPARs before that. I like turning wrenches, figuring out mechanical stuff, and modding stuff when it can be better than stock. So far, after reading this website forum for the past 3 days, I am stoked not only to be into a new vehicle and the learning curve that comes with it, but stoked to have such a valuable resource at my fingertips.
I ask a ton of questions and help out when and where I can. Talk to you guys soon.
Hi jimmynotch and Welcome to FTE Your right about there being a lot of great information here, there is a ton of it.
The folks here are quite the knowledgeable bunch who are always willing to help one of their fellow Ford owners who are having a problem with their Ford or have a question or two about something.
We can always use another wrench hand here as well so that's all good in my books. Don't forget to join the Northern California and meet some of your fellow Ford fans and FTE members from your area.
Hope you enjoy all FTE has to offer and we will see you in the threads
You will realy love that truck, all the more because it has one of the most reliable engines made by Ford, the torquey I6 300. There is also plenty of room for improvement, so you'll enjoy making that truck yours.
