2006 expedition with 5.4. 88,000 miles. Oil and filter every 3000 miles. We bought it with 18000 miles and as far as I remember it has had a slight tick. Had new brakes and struts done a week ago. Then had Ford do 100000 mile service. Did all fluids, belt, rad hoses. I did all plugs at 60,000 miles. Tick seems louder and I'm getting a noticeable engine vibration at 1800 rpm. You can really feel it when in gear. Other than that it runs great. Any ideas?
I'm getting a noticeable engine vibration at 1800 rpm.
First it is best to confirm where the vibration is coming from. The next time you're up to speed and getting the vibration, take your foot off the gas and shift into neutral. If the vibration goes away it's the engine or torque converter. If the vibration continues then it's coming from the drivetrain.
The tick could be an exhaust manifold gasket leaking.

It's the engine. Does it in park and in gear. More noticeable in gear as drivetrain is engaged.
The torque converter is bolted to the engine so it always turns when the engine is on. Putting it in gear adds load, so a change in the vibration harmonics is expected.
