I recently got a 1964 f600 that had sat for 16 year's. Took 2 days but got it running and wow it runs pretty nice for being 50 years old and sitting for the last 16 year's. So i am tring to find out what engine it has the engine code is A and i cant not find anything that says what A is.
Also i was wondering if anyone knows if i can convert it from power brakes it has now to manual brakes? I would think the only difference is the master cylinder but the mount holes are different so i was not sure if it was doable or if anyone else has done it.
Pictures of the engine would be helpful. Pics of the whole truck are appreciated. As you can see, I used to have a half ton version of your truck so I'm partial to them.
For the codes and brake questions, PM NumberDummy. He can tell you all you need to know and then some.

A '64 is probably a 292. Does it have a backwards exhaust manifold with a crossover pipe from the driver side to the passenger side manifold?
Brakes. Do you want to be able to stop the truck? You need to fix the hydrovac system if it is not working.
You will not be able to stop the truck even empty if all you have is a single pot master cylinder without power assist.
Rebuilt hydrovacs are available. Once you determine the model number etc, they are easy to find.
Wheel cylinders & linings are easy to find, drums a bit tougher.
If you post the VIN and the info from the warranty plate on the door, more can be determined via decoding. There might be a couple different sized brakes for example, not sure the decode can tell you that but will help steer you in the right direction.
