Low Beam Headlights

Ok thanks in advance for any help/info.
Last night my wife and i went out to super the headlights and everything working fine upon starting truck to come home i turned on headlights (via headlight switch) they came on for a split second then went out. The fog lights work and when on the headlight lamps light up very dim. Bright lights came on with some on off on off movement of high beam switch. When high beams came on there was a buzzing from the fuse panel ( passenger side floor sidewall). LH and RH fuses are ok i am thinking the relay #06 might be the problem any help is appreciated.

Actually it should be relay #3 not #6. Also, pull out fuse #35 and inspect it along with it's contacts.

You sure you have the correct owners manual?

I've attached a PDF of the fuse/relay box layout and index for a 2006 Expedition for comparison.

Yes, I assumed was an Ex, but they have been made since 1997 with three or four different versions.

Do you have a volt-meter or a test lamp so that you can do some testing?

I see the reason for the confusion. Back in your first post you said RELAY #6, but you were actually looking at FUSE #6.

The RELAYS are listed after all of the fuses and have an "R" in front of them. So if you flip a few more pages and go to the end of the list and view R03 you'll see it's the high beam RELAY and it's powered by FUSE #35. I suspect your problem is with that RELAY.

Well now that were on the same page, swap out relay 03 and see if the lights work better.

Relay #3 is the high beam relay. It won't help much for the ow-beam problem.

Perhaps not, as he could be dealing with more than one problem, but because he did say, "When high beams came on there was a buzzing from the fuse panel" in his first post. This would indicate the high beam relay is vibrating on/off rapidly. Being easily accessible, I figured it's a good place to start troubleshooting.

Try unplugging the fog lights and see if the headlight lamps return to normal brightness.
The only comonality between the fog lights and headlight lamps is that each fog light shares a ground with its respective headlight unit. Although it is not likely that both grounds have deteriorated at the same time, but if there is a marginal ground, it may not be able to support both the headlight lamp and the foglight lamp being on at the same time.
