Heli Coils

I finally got time to put GT40P heads on,and found out that all 4 driver side spark plug holes had heli coils in them. would it be safe to run it like that,or should i replace it? I am frequently off road and dont want that thought is a plug going to blow out? Any advice is appricated. Thanks

Properly installed Heli coils are probably stronger than the cast iron in which they're mounted. No worries.

No heli coils

After pulling the head, and throughly inspecting it again, found no damaged threads.I then pulled the plugs out of the passenger side and they went rite in no problem. Upon closer inspection of the plugs,(Bosch Platinum fusion, all 8 2 boxes of 4), found that the shoulder on 4 of them were larger than the others. These plugs worked in stock heads but not GT40P heads.I replaced the plugs and it fired up no problem.Learn something new every day. Thanks for the advice.

Hello and good evening.

X2 on the Heli-Coils. They are stronger than most every thread once installed.

Take care.
