Random runaway volume
What is up with this runaway volume 04f250
Damn thing is possessed I get in crank it up (start the engine)and the volume goes off the chart shut it down ( the radio)befor the twin boxers ( my replacement for the kids gone to college) bite me
And sometimes it will go right back up
Do I need a x er sist !,,,,

Sounds like the volume control is about to fail completely on ya. Since its most likely a rotary **** type of control its really a potentiometer and is shorting out in various places along its rotation.
The only real solution is pulling the radio and having it repaired---not always the most cost effective method. Buying a new, gently used or refurbished OEM unit from eBay etc might be the easiest swap for this.
