supposedly mid 90's from what ive heard.. the springs were the only difference after that... then they supposedly started building them exactly the same some point in 2000 with just different badging... they both claim to have the same load ratings for both hauling and towing... but i often wonder about those claims...

the info in post 5 appears to confirm what i was replying when ya posted... apparently by 2004 (which was what they were asking) that at some point in the 2000's (only heard 2000 as in 1900 not a specific year) that they changed to making the springs equal to each other... but the earlier models were not made that way... originally there was a HUGE difference between the models.. Power, drivetrain, and suspension were completely different... in the 90's they started making them with the same powertrains and drivelines but had different spring rates.. now theyre making them exactly the same it looks like by that article.. just depends on the year of when the changes were made which is the HUGEST debate amongst the truck guys as to when exactly and what years those changes were made...

yup... its annoying for sure.. but i suspect its partly the MFG's wanted to give us truck guys the capability we wanted from the 1tons in a 3/4 ton but getting lower insurance premiums because its a 3/4 ton...

Well, mine is an '86 so I know it is truly a 3/4!

The reason I posted was you were saying the springs were different.

one difference i can find... F250's seem to only be available in SRW.. but keep in mind at least for 2004... F350 and F250's both had the Sterling 10.5 axle (meaning R&P were 10.5" in the SRW... the F350 was offered with Dana 80 for the Dually which had an 11.25" R&P in it...
