One of the unfortunate improvements in today's auto and truck world. You can't buy a standard transmission. Granted the automatic in my new Ford is good and I can shift it manually but it just isn't the same without a clutch. Linkages can be repaired. So can automatic transmissions, but at a pretty steep price.
That linkage isn't cheap. That's why I ask. I have some parts off of a couple trucks I scavenged for parts. May be able to help save the oil money.
Linkage still has to be less than a new automatic transmission. I can't imagine the cost on a new tranny, what with all the computer and other high tech stuff crammed into them.
