Hi, I'm Bob. I live in the UK and just bought this 1949 F2 off UK ebay. It is completely original apart from a later 4 spd synchro transmission. The paint, although tired, is original, and there is no rot. It has an interesting history too, having been on display in a retail outlet and a restaurant! Almost everything mechanical has been rebuilt by the previous owner. I feel so guilty when I see the projects on here and all the work they entail! Tomorrow I am having radial 235 85 16 tyres installed.
I love this forum and have learned so much from it.
Cheers.
Hi Bob and Welcome to FTE What a great find! From the pics it looks like it's in great shape for the year of the truck, I would say you scored a hell of a deal!
One thing you will find with the folks here is there is a great deal of information here and the folks here are always willing to try and answer a question or try and help solve a problem one of their fellow Ford owners may be having with their Ford.
So you always have a good resource to come to. Don't forget to upload some pics of your Ford to your garage and enjoy your time here at FTE!
Thanks for the warm welcome.
I swear this truck is bringing me good luck. When getting the new tyres fitted, a customer in the shop asked me about the old ones and offered me £200 which I gratefully accepted as I was more or less ready to scrap them!
Depends on how you want to use it.
Have an aquaintance that owns an old 30's ford pickup ratrod who drives it to work every day, in snow and everything.
Now that's cool.

Now there ain't nothing wrong with that!! Driven, not concrete cowboys!!
Thanks Pellas.
Where is Aland Islands? Well I drove my truck today and do most days.It always brings a few smiles as there is not much like it around here.
One of the advantages of owning a pre 1960 vehicle in the Uk, is that there is no road tax to pay and it is exempt from the MOT test, a strict yearly safety check for vehicles over 3 years old. But then there is the cost of fuel!
Thanks Pellas.
