VIN Decoding

I want to decode my VIN... Where can I find the info to do this.

VIN is: 1FTHF25H3LPA84497

All I can determine from this is:

351EFI

Axle code is C5.... I assume this is 4.10 differential

Also... my trans code is E... I assume this is E4OD but am unsure

Spring code is FF... what is this telling me?

Chilton's manuals usually have a VIN decoding section in thier book.

It's too new to get a build sheet from Ford - they only offer that for '91 & earlier.

My truck is a 1990, so how do I get a build sheet and what exactly does that show?

I don't have the link to the instructions (I'm not at home right now), but you go to one of the Ford (corporate) sites and eventually there's a form you can fill out or a phone number to call and request one. You tell them your VIN and all the door codes, and they decode it all for you. On the newer ones (like yours), they may have documentation that will give even more info, but on mine they only told me what I already knew.

I'll post a link here later to the directions on how to get to that form, or you might find it by searching a few of the forums for "build sheet" in my posts.
