All for a "as built by FoMoCo" look as the truck goes down the road.
460 6 speed (manual?) If so from what vehicle? Gear ratios in trans?
As for the local 500hp motor needing just belts and a 600cfm carb....
Please posts photos / build sheet / receipts or a AF ratio curve if it has ever been around a dyno.
You'll want a Dana 60 front if you plan on running that engine that claims has 500HP.
BTW.... what does the torque look like? 4wd. Trans. Transfer case. 2 axles. HP that only hits in the upper RPM range will not be a fun drive if one of you concerns is being able to use this truck in the snow.
The engine itself is from a mid 90s f350, the transmission, I'm ordering online and the company claims the transmission can handle up to 700hp. As for dyno sheets, and more paperwork on the engine itself, ill call the guy in the next few weeks and see if he has documentation on it, I do know the engine runs smooth, and has a pissed off cam in it at the very least, as before I paid for it, I needed to hear it run. I have the receipts from him proving that the engine was definitely rebuilt around the claimed time, also the receipts for the wild cam, higher compression pistons, aftermarket intake manifold, and various other parts, that would lead me to believe it does have higher horsepower than stock. But I will definitely get more information as to where, when, and what was/were used in the dyno and testing procedures.
Sounds like a hell of a deal for the price you stated you can pick this motor up for... my only concern would be WHERE does this motor with the "pissed off cam" make peak torque at?
If nothing else grab it at the lowball price until you get more information
I did purchase the engine today, the guy cleaned it up fairly well too, and if worst comes to worst, and he can't provide the documentation ill find a local place to run my own tests, I'm hoping for low end torque and high hp but am not getting my hopes up. I'll keep posted on this thread as I progress though.
